Fimelato's journey towards a tailored wedding suit

Each groom has his own model of suit

As we saw in the previous article, to make a tailor-made wedding suit, Fimelato recommends leaving 5 months before the event in order to embark on a peaceful journey towards the best result for the customer.

Today we want to talk to you about the models among which you can choose together with our style consultant, so as to arrive in our showroom with greater awareness.

First of all we must therefore specify that there are two types of wearability: formal and classic-elegant.

Formal fit and classic-elegant fit

Among the models with formal fit we find first of all the morning suit, a mornig suit to wear for daytime ceremonies. In fact, in Italy, tights are usually worn no later than sunset time, even if today this type of rules are less strict. The morning suit consists of a jacket called mornig jaket in pure worsted wool. In Italy it can be dark gray or midnight blue, while in England, its country of origin, it is usually black. The waistcoat can match the color of the jacket or create a contrast with very pale pastel colors, such as yellow (called buff), pink or light blue. The trousers in their most traditional form are striped gray, but it is also possible to choose them in a solid color like the jacket. Also in this case, the client's taste and the context of the location have a huge impact: recently our style consultant proposed a splendid tight in pure white linen to a client, for a ceremony held on the Caribbean beach of Saint Barts.

Among the models in formal fit, we also find the half tight. Its jacket is slightly longer than the suit jacket but shorter than the morning suit, and is closed by a button, for a more rounded effect than the suit jacket. In this case, the matching trousers will have to be striped if you want to maintain the appearance of the morning suit, otherwise the result will be very similar to that of a classic suit with jacket and trousers.

When the sun goes down, the tuxedo time begins, the classic evening dress. Until recently, the tuxedo was used for situations such as cocktails, going to the theater, gala evenings. The American influence, a reality in which the rules of good dress are more flexible, has meant that in recent times the tuxedo has been cleared for ceremonies also in our country. The tuxedo consists of a single-breasted or double-breasted jacket, with a shawl collar, classic or spear. Jacket and trousers must be of the same fabric and color, usually black or midnight blue. It is possible to combine the tuxedo with a vest or a sash, always in the same color and fabric.

Moving on to the classic-elegant fit, we find the timeless dress with waistcoat, which reflects the idea of ??a clean, sober and elegant ceremony. The classic colors for this type of dress are dark gray, midnight blue or, for an occasion in a sunny place, Naples blue.

Combinations and accessories

For a formal shirt, the double cuff for cufflinks is a must, a detail that gives immediate refinement, thanks to the customization with engravings or stones. The collar of the shirt can be Italian or French: with the waistcoat it is always better to prefer French because, being more open, it allows the tips to close under it.
As for shoes, there are not many alternatives: the smooth black shoe is mandatory! Only with a tuxedo can you dare with a slipper called a pump. In this case, always combine silk stockings for a sophisticated effect.
