Interview with Alessandra Ottaviani, president of Fimelato ETS Foundation
1. Why was Fimelato ETS Foundation born and why was the form of a Third Sector Entity chosen?
Fimelato ETS Foundation was born out of a desire to consolidate and expand the path taken with the Gentle Men Club, bringing the values of kindness, beauty and elegance to a broader and more structured dimension. We wanted to create a space where these principles could be translated even more into concrete actions for the common good, uniting culture and solidarity.
The decision to establish ourselves as a Third Sector Entity was not accidental, but a conscious decision consistent with our vision: we wanted to provide the Foundation with a structure capable of guaranteeing independence, transparency and a strong social impact, far from the logic of profit or private interests. Being an ETS means operating ethically and responsibly, keeping the welfare of people and communities, especially the most fragile ones, at the center of our charter. This status also allows us to collaborate with a network of public and private entities, strengthening our ability to impact the social fabric of the country.
2. What ambitions and visions does the Foundation have for 2025?
The year 2025 represents a crucial year for us, not only because we are consolidating our first steps as a Foundation, but also because we want to lay a solid foundation for the future. Our main ambition is to become a cultural and solidarity landmark, capable of promoting a new way of conceiving beauty and kindness as tools for social change.
We aim to nurture a dialogue between art, culture and solidarity, demonstrating how these worlds, often perceived as separate, can coexist and reinforce each other. We want to develop projects that have a measurable impact, capable of inspiring change in people and society, fostering self-improvement, inclusion, respect and new opportunities.
In addition, we wish to stimulate a broader national reflection on the role of kindness, both as a personal value and as a model for leadership and entrepreneurial development. Through events, partnerships, and innovative initiatives, we aim to engage an increasingly broad audience, creating a true “culture of kindness,” a “kind ecosystem,” that can influence the way we live and relate.
3. What are the first initiatives in 2025?
We have already enthusiastically launched the organization of the 2025 edition of the “Italian Kindness Award,” a unique recognition that celebrates people, companies and associations committed to promoting kindness and solidarity through concrete projects. Starting January 15, nominations are open again; this year, the Award will be accompanied by the “Kind Tales On Tour,” a roadshow that will cross Italy to raise awareness and involve local communities, culminating with the “Night of Kindness” in Milan next November 13.
In addition, the “Inspiring Talks With?” will start, a series of exclusive meetings dedicated to our members, which will address topics such as leadership, communication, emotion management and technological innovation, always with an interpretative key related to kindness and elegance. These appointments will offer moments of reflection and personal growth, creating spaces for discussion and inspiration.
Last but not least, we are working on projects of inclusion and solidarity in the main Italian cities, with the aim of supporting those who live in situations of fragility. We believe that every gesture, even the smallest, can contribute to building a more just and harmonious society, and this is precisely where we intend to start for our 2025, together with all those who share this vision and who would like to contribute their positive energy.
